Associate Professor Emeritus
Dr. Robert Burns is Associate Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies. Dr. Burns served as the Chairperson of the Religious Studies Program until 2011. He retired in 2016, after 45 years on the faculty at the University of Arizona.
He received his PhD in theology from the University of Iowa. Dr. Burns is a member of the University of Arizona Hall of Fame. He is the recipient of the Five Star Faculty Award for excellence in teaching and several other awards. Among his publications are the following books:
