My humanities education laid the foundation for success in my professional endeavors. In my day-to-day working as an economic development practitioner, relationships and history are key. It’s so important for me to be mindful of the community’s history and values, and to honor and respect them. Studying humanities taught me how to think about and appreciate the ways in which history and culture shape a community, and the value of different perspectives, all of which have served me well in my role at the City of Tucson.
