RECOMMENDED STUDY ABROAD OPTIONS FOR RELIGIOUS STUDIES STUDENTS IN 2017: Arizona in Bhutan & Arizona in Italy.
Arizona in Bhutan with Dr. Rae Dachille, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and East Asian Studies. Arizona in Bhutan will run from May 15 - June 15, 2017. Note: The first two weeks of this program will take place on the University of Arizona campus. Students will then travel to Bhutan via Bangkok. Dr. Dachille will offer the following course options through the 2017 Arizona in Bhutan Program for University of Arizona credit:
- Spiritual Ecology in Himalayan Buddhism (3 credits)
- Mentored Research in Himalayan Buddhism (3 credits)

Arizona in Italy with Dr. Courtney Friesen, Assistant Professor of New Testament Studies and Early Christianity. Arizona in Italy is a study abroad program located in Orvieto, Italy (near Rome) and the summer session with Dr. Friesen will run from May 21 to June 25, 2017.
Dr. Friesen will offer the following course options through the 2017 Arizona in Italy Program:
- RELI 280 - Introduction to the New Testament: History, Religion, and Literature (Gen Ed Tier 2 Humanities)
- CLAS/RELI 306 - The Transformation of Society: Christianity in the Greco-Roman World (Gen Ed Tier 2 Individuals and Societies)
- CLAS/RELI 399 - Independent Study
