Dr. Simmons receives College of Humanities Faculty Initiative Grants

Religious Studies Assistant Professor Caleb Simmons has been awarded two substantial College of Humanities Faculty Initiative Grants to foster South Asian studies at the University of Arizona.

One of the grants will support his work to develop UA’s first study abroad program in India. He plans to launch the UA in India study abroad program in the summer of 2016.

The other grant will fund a conference Caleb is organizing at UA focusing on maṭhas in South Asian history and society. This conference will feature a wide range of South Asian scholars.
